Dear Parent or Guardian:
All Worcester Academy students are required to have health insurance as a condition of their enrollment. International students are automatically enrolled in the Worcester Academy Student Health Insurance Plan. The cost of the health insurance is included in the International Student Fee for one year, beginning August 1, 2017 and ending July 31, 2018.
Dental care and vision care, including eye examination and eye glasses, are not covered by the student health insurance plan. However, separate Vision and Dental plans are available for purchase on a voluntary basis; please visit http://www.universityhealthplans.com, select Worcester Academy, and view the plan benefits under the “Optional Plans” tab. If you choose to purchase Vision and/or Dental coverage, enrollment must be done through the University Health Plans website with the premium paid by credit card.
Please review and keep for your records the 2017-18 International Student Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan Brochure, which can be viewed via this link: https://www.universityhealthplans.com/pdf/WorcesterAcademy_Brochure-1718.pdf
Please note that in the event of an emergency, treatment in a hospital Emergency Room is subject to a $250 copay per visit, and treatment received in an Urgent Care Center is subject to a $50 copay per visit. Prescription medications are also subject to copays per prescription, and there is a $250 maximum benefit for Immunizations. Please refer to the insurance brochure for more complete information.
The Worcester Academy Health Office will assist you in managing your child’s health insurance benefits. Any costs incurred in the care of your child not covered by health insurance benefits are the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Thank you for entrusting us with the care of your child. Their good health, well-being and safety is our utmost concern.
