Student Health Insurance Plan
Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts – Boston has partnered with University Health Plans and Blue Cross Blue Shield to provide student health insurance for the 2016 – 2017 academic year.
Massachusetts State Law requires that all students enrolled at least ¾ time must participate in a student health insurance program or in a health benefit plan with comparable coverage. Minimum benefit levels and services that are required for student health insurance plans are set forth in the Qualifying Student Health Insurance Program (QSHIP) regulation. All students enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts – Boston must participate in a school sponsored health insurance plan, or another alternate plan with comparable coverage.
A health plan is comparable if:
- The health benefit plan provides to the student throughout the school year coverage which includes the following:
- Lab tests and x-rays
- Prescription drugs
- Outpatient hospital services
- Mental health care
- Emergency room care
- Hospitalization (including room and board, physician’s fees, and surgical expenses)
- The services covered under the health benefit plan are reasonably accessible to the student in the Cambridge, MA area.
