Dear Trinity College Student,

There has been much in the news over the past two years regarding Health Care Reform and The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently issued the final rule to establish requirements for student health insurance coverage under PPACA. Starting with the 2012-13 Policy Year, the ruling requires the Trinity College Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan to implement a variety of benefit changes/enhancements which are detailed below.

These benefit enhancements are great for the students covered under this plan, and are very much needed by some, but they will contribute to the escalation of our premium. The 2012-13 Annual Student Only Plan premium will be $1,400. We understand that the increased premium may cause a hardship for some of the Trinity College students, but we also believe the new benefits are important for the insured population.

BENEFIT CHANGES

Please refer to the 2012-13 Student Accident and Sickness Plan brochure, when it becomes available, online at www.universityhealthplans.com for coverage details, provider search, eligibility, rates, and deadline dates.

Sincerely,

Trinity College Health Center
