Dear RBHS Students and Parents:

Rutgers is pleased to present you with information about the Rutgers University Student Health Insurance Plan. The Student Health Insurance Plan is serviced by University Health Plans and underwritten by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company (UHC). You may review the Plan benefits by going to http://www.universityhealthplans.com and click on Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

RBHS New Full-Time Summer Students Only

RBHS initially charges all new full-time summer students for the Student Health Insurance Plan during summer semester. The cost for the health insurance plan will be $794.00. The coverage period is from May 1, 2024, to August 14, 2024. Students who have other health insurance coverage may opt out by submitting the online waiver form.

RBHS new full-time summer students are required to submit an online waiver form prior to the posted deadline each academic year. The summer waiver deadline is May 31, 2024Students who do not respond by the deadline will be automatically enrolled in the summer plan and will be responsible for paying the premium. Students who do not pay the assessed premium and who have not properly waived coverage will have a hold placed on their account until it is paid in full.

RBHS New Part-Time Summer Students Only

RBHS new part-time summer students who participate in clinical experience are required to have health insurance coverage. RBHS initially charges all new part part-time summer students in clinical rotation for the Student Health Insurance Plan during summerThe cost for the health insurance plan will be $794.00. The coverage period is from May 1, 2024, to August 14, 2024. If you are new part-time summer student and do not participate in clinical experience, you will NOT be automatically charged for the Student Health Insurance Plan. If you would like to purchase the coverage, you may do so by submitting the online “Voluntary Student Enrollment Form” on the left-hand side menu no later than May 31, 2024.

Online-only degree programs and non-matriculated students registered only for online courses do not fulfill the eligibility requirements. 

Waiver Instructions

The deadline to submit the online summer waiver form is May 31, 2024.

To submit the online waiver, select “Waiver Form” on the left of this page or click HERE. When your waiver form has been successfully submitted, you will see a waiver confirmation number and receive a confirmation email to your university email address shortly thereafter. If you do not receive the confirmation email, your form may not have been submitted and you should contact University Health Plans at 833-251-1142 for assistance.

Dependent Enrollment

Students who have confirmed their own enrollment in the RBHS Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) may also elect to add eligible dependents to their plan by clicking HERE.
