STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN

Shorelight is pleased to announce that for the Spring 2025, we have teamed up with Wellfleet Student and University Health Plans (UHP) to offer health insurance coverage for international students entering Temple University. The International Health Insurance Plan provides substantial benefits for covered medical expenses at a reasonable cost.
Eligibility & Enrollment
All Temple University students are required to enroll in health insurance. You have received communications directly from Shorelight, and you can enroll in the Temple University International SHIP by selecting Enrollment Form in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page.
Plan Highlights
The Temple University International SHIP is provided by Wellfleet Student. We encourage you to review the coverage by selecting the "Benefit Information” tab in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page. Below are some of the highlights of the insurance plan.
- Access to Cigna PPO provider network
- Prescription drug coverage
- Office Visit: $10 Copay
- Urgent Care: $10 Copay
- Emergency Room: 10% coinsurance, after deductible (waived if admitted)
- Student Health Center claims are covered at 100%

Dental Plan
Temple University International students and their dependents can enroll in the optional dental plan provided by United Concordia by selecting Benefit Information from the Dental Insurance section in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page. Enrollment in this plan is voluntary; it is not required insurance.
Vision Plan
The vision plan provided by VSP Vision Care. The complete description of benefits and participating provider search can be found by clicking "Vision Insurance" in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page. Enrollment in this plan is mandatory. All students will be automatically enrolled, and no action is necessary. Once enrolled, no ID cards or claim forms are needed when you see a VSP Network Doctor. Tell the doctor you are a VSP member when making the appointment.
