Why Risk Strategies Education?

The Student Health Division of Risk Strategies Education provides consulting, brokerage, and plan administration services exclusively for student health insurance programs.

The Student Health Division of Risk Strategies Education was created when University Health Plans (UHP) joined Risk Strategies in 2017 with over 30 years of experience.

Since then, Risk Strategies Education has continued to grow through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. In 2020, Academic HealthPlans joined the Risk Strategies family followed by the acquisition of Specialty Insurance Solutions. More recently, we acquired Relation Education Solutions whose clients include over 100 colleges and universities with a focus on international student health insurance. Together, we support over 450 colleges and universities nationwide ranging from small liberal arts colleges, private and public universities, community colleges, and large public systems.

As specialists in the design, placement, and service of college and university student health insurance programs, we represent our clients to secure coverage with highly rated insurance companies that specifically cater to the student health and special risk market. Our areas of expertise include voluntary, mandatory, and hard waiver student health insurance plans, intercollegiate sports plans, dental and vision coverage, travel insurance, study abroad, camp coverage, amateur sports, and more.

The success of our practice is based on our accurate, up-front assessment of our clients’ needs and our ongoing commitment to deliver efficient and quality service. Our objective is to work in partnership with each institution to explore the financial alternatives, benefit designs, and cost containment strategies best suited to each individual college or university’s student insurance program. Our long-term relationship with our clients is a direct result of our expertise, superior service, and dynamic administrative options specific to the needs of the student insurance market. Our ability to deliver flexible benefit designs, exceptional customer service, innovative technology, healthcare reform expertise, quality claims administration, and direct quantifiable advice is what differentiates us in the student health insurance market.

In addition to student health insurance plans, we are well-equipped with the knowledge and experience to support your mission to provide a healthy campus environment for all students. We offer a 360º- approach to wellness through a variety of solutions targeted to meeting a student’s physical, behavioral, and financial wellbeing. These includes telehealth for urgent care, psychiatry, and therapy, 24/7 on demand counseling, tuition coverage, dorm and renter’s insurance, and a myriad of behavioral health focused solutions tailored to students.
