Aetna Student Health is sending letters to all New School students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan requesting social security numbers. You only need to comply if you are covered under the Student Health Insurance Plan.
Please see the categories below for further information.
STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN: Healthcare Reform (ACA) does require Aetna Student Health to obtain and provide social security numbers for all enrolled members to the IRS. Aetna must make and show proof of three (3) attempts to obtain this member information. Please follow the instructions in the letter or contact Aetna Student Health with any questions at 1-800-878-1927.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Ignore the letter if you do not have a SSN (Social Security Number) or TIN (Tax Identification Number).
Please make sure to update your Official Mailing Address with your local address in your MyNewSchool account to ensure that you receive this correspondence from Aetna Student Health.
