Bay State College is pleased to announce that for the 2016-2017 Academic Year we have teamed up with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBS) to provide health insurance coverage for our students. University Health Plans (UHP) will continue to administer the plan. The insurance coverage is through BCBS with UHP providing administrative support for the waiver and enrollment forms, and customer service for general insurance questions.
The Bay State College Health Insurance Plan includes a strong nationwide Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) network of providers. Highlights of the Student Health Insurance Plan include no deductible, $20 office visit copay, $150 ER copay, no copay for labs and x-rays, and 100% coverage for preventative care and hospitalizations.

Full Time or Three-Quarter Time Students at Bay State College, who are enrolled in a health care plan or who are covered by a parent/spouse’s health care plan, which meets the minimums set forth in Massachusetts Law C.15A, s. 18 (available on the http://mass.gov website; type QSHIP into the search box), use the Waiver Form found on this site to waive for the 2016-2017 Student Health Insurance Plan.
The premium is $2,578 for the Policy Year and the policy is in effect from September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017. The premium for the Spring Only plan is $1,719 for the period of January 17, 2017 through August 31, 2017 and the Summer Only Plan is $860 for the period of May 22, 2017 through August 31, 2017.
