Before Waiving SHIP
Please be advised that by waiving Salve’s Student Health Insurance Plan you are accepting responsibility for the first $1,500 of expenses for an intercollegiate sports injury.
If you are considering waiving Salve’s Student Health Insurance Plan, please note that some insurance plans are restrictive and may leave students essentially uninsured while away at school. This could result in you incurring substantial out-of-pocket costs for medical care. In evaluating your plan, you must verify the following.
Waiver Process: For students, participation in the Salve Regina University Health Insurance Plan is mandatory unless you are enrolled in another comparable health insurance plan. If you choose to waive, you will need to provide proof of comparable coverage by logging onto www.universityhealthplans.com and submitting the on-line waiver form by August 1, 2020. A credit in the amount of the Health Insurance Fee will be posted to your student account when we receive the Waiver Form.
