Enrollment Process
All eligible students who do not submit a waiver form by the posted deadline will be automatically enrolled in and responsible for the insurance charge posted to your student account for the Bryant PA Student Health Insurance Plan. Eligible students who wish to be enrolled do not need to take any action. Please note, if you are graduating in March 2026, you are only eligible for coverage effective 1/1 - 3/31.
Waiver Process
If your plan meets all of the waiver requirements listed below, you may waive coverage by the deadline to be removed from the student health insurance plan. You can access the on-line waiver form by selecting the waiver form located in the left-hand side navigation menu. Once you complete the health insurance waiver and submit it online, the charge will be removed from your Bryant student account. Failure to complete the waiver by the deadline will result in a student being enrolled and responsible for the student health insurance charge. Please note, if you are graduating in March 2026, you are waiving coverage effective 1/1 - 3/31.
To be eligible to waive, the health insurance must meet the below criteria:
- Plan is currently active and provides coverage for the entire calendar year while a registered student.
- Plan provides comprehensive coverage (access to doctors, specialists, hospitals, labs, pharmacies, and behavioral health without restriction or limitations). Please note, out of state Medicaid and many HMO or EPO plans do not provide comprehensive out-of-area coverage. Urgent or Emergency only coverage does not satisfy this requirement.
- Plan is ACA (Affordable Care Act) compliant and filed and approved in the United States.
Qualifying Event Enrollment Process
Students may qualify for a special enrollment period if they incur an involuntary loss of other coverage. The qualifying event enrollment form is located on the left side of this page. You must submit the qualifying event enrollment form and supporting documentation within 31 days of the qualifying event to be eligible. Once eligibility is confirmed, the premium is added to the student's account. If the loss of other coverage occurs between 1/1 and 6/30, the student is responsible for paying the annual premium of $3,536 and if the loss of coverage occurs between 7/1 and 12/31, the student is responsible for paying the prorated premium of $1,782.
