In accordance with Massachusetts State Law, Olin College of Engineering requires students to participate in the Qualified Student Health Insurance Plan (QSHIP) unless proof of comparable coverage is provided. Students must either complete the On-Line Enrollment Form, to enroll in the Olin College Student Health Insurance Plan, or complete the On-Line Waiver Form to provide proof of comparable coverage.
Olin College does not allow certain students to waive off the QSHIP plan. If the student falls under one of the following categories they are ineligible for waiver and will be automatically enrolled:
The Olin College Student Health Insurance 2018-2019 policy year begins on August 15, 2018 and runs through August 14, 2019. Students will be irrevocably enrolled in this plan unless a waiver is completed and received by Student Accounts prior to the fall deadline which has been extended to August 15, 2018. The waiver stipulates that personal coverage will be maintained during the 2018-2019 policy period, August 15, 2018 through August 14, 2019. If a waiver is not on file by the extended deadline, August 15, 2018 the student will be billed the $1,653 insurance premium and will remain responsible for payment of said premium. This waiver is for the 2018-2019 policy period only. A new waiver form must be submitted at least once each academic year.
Beginning Fall 2018, if you are a MassHealth member, you are required to submit the MassHealth Premium Assistance form when completing the annual health insurance waiver process. Please click here for additional information about the MassHealth Premium Assistance Program.
If a student's insurance is cancelled at any point during the academic year they are required to notify the Student Accounts Manager within 60 days of the loss of coverage. Olin’s Blue Cross Blue Shield Student Health Insurance Plan is available. Please consult the Student Accounts Manager for applicable rates. Payment is due immediately.
To complete the Enrollment Form or Waiver Form, select appropriately from the MENU options to the left. When you have completed and successfully submitted the form, you will immediately receive a notice indicating the completion of the form. Please print this notice for your records. You will also receive an email confirmation.
