To waive the Student Health Insurance Plan and report your own insurance:

  • The policy must be a US health insurance plan that is filed and approved in the US
  • The policy must provide coverage for the entire academic year (8/19/20-8/18/21) with no break in coverage. New spring students must provide coverage (1/1/21-8/18/21). Travel insurance and short-term limited duration plans are not accepted
  • The policy must be in full compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and provide minimum essential coverage as defined by the ACA, including:
    • An unlimited policy maximum
    • Pre-existing condition coverage
    • Emergency and non-emergency coverage in the Beverly area
    • An unlimited maximum for mental/behavioral health care for inpatient and outpatient service

The deadline to waive the Annual Student Health Insurance Plan was on September 18, 2020. Student may submit a waiver appeal form through October 9, 2020. For NEW incoming spring 2021 students the deadline to waive the Spring Student Health Insurance Plan is March 1, 2021.

Domestic Student Enrollment/Waiver Process

Students who have an insurance plan that meets the above standards may select to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan by completing the waiver form located in the left navigation menu of this page. Students who would like to enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan may complete the enrollment form located in left navigation menu of this page. Although students are automatically charged for the Student Health Insurance Plan, NEW spring students will not be automatically enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan by the College until after add/drop deadline. Students should enroll as soon as possible to avoid difficulties in accessing their health insurance benefits.

International Student Enrollment/Waiver Process

International students are enrolled on a mandatory basis and cannot waive the Student Health Insurance Plan.

Please note, health insurance plans marketed solely to international students are often not filed in the U.S., have limited benefits and/or coverage periods that do not comply with the Massachusetts Student Health Plan Regulations and the Endicott College waiver requirements. ISO, PSI and Student Medicover are examples of companies that do not meet the waiver requirements but market their plans to international students. The Endicott Student Health Insurance Plan meets F1/J1 visa requirements.

UHP is available to manage the enrollment and answer general questions about the insurance plan. To speak with a representative, please call (800) 437-6448 or send an email to info@univhealthplans.com. If you have specific questions regarding the benefits, please feel free to contact Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts at (888) 753-6615.

Students arriving for their first semester at Endicott are required to submit the Health Form and Immunization Record to Family Medicine Associates at Endicott College by January 15, 2021. Please visit the Endicott Health Center web page here or call 978-232-2104 if you have any questions about this process.
