St. John’s College is pleased to announce that for the 2020-2021 Academic Year we have teamed up with Wellfleet Student (Wellfleet) and University Health Plans (UHP) to provide health insurance coverage for our students. The insurance coverage is through Wellfleet with UHP providing administrative support for the waiver and enrollment forms, and customer service for general insurance questions.

International Student Enrollment Process
Enrollment is mandatory for all International Students. All international students are automatically enrolled in the College’s Student Health Insurance Plan, and may not waive out of it. To expedite enrollment in the Plan, students may confirm enrollment by submitting the enrollment form located in the left navigation menu of this page.
Domestic Student Enrollment/Waiver Process
Students who have an insurance plan that meet the below waiver requirements set by the College may elect to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan by completing the waiver form located in the left navigation menu of this page. Students enrolling in the Student Health Insurance Plan must confirm enrollment by submitting the online enrollment form located in left navigation menu of this page.
FAILURE TO COMPLETE the online Waiver Form by the deadline will result in your mandatory purchase of the College’s Student Health Insurance Plan for the 2020-2021 Policy Year, without the possibility of late waiver, refund or cancellation.

Please note, in the event your fall 2020 courses are remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic and you submit the waiver form with an out of area plan, it is important that you re-evaluate your health insurance needs when you return to the College. If your private insurance policy does not extend to the Annapolis,MD area for non-emergency care, you must contact University Health Plans at (800) 437-6448 or info@univhealthplans.com to enroll in the St. John’s College student health insurance plan. Emergency only care is not sufficient while living in the area of the school.
Dependent Enrollment Process
All students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan may enroll their eligible dependents on to their Plan. Dependent enrollment election can be made when submitting the enrollment form in the left navigation menu of this page. The dependent premium cannot be added to your student tuition bill and must be paid for at the time you submit the form. Dependent enrollment must be elected prior to the enrollment deadline. Beyond the deadline, dependents may only be added if due to a qualifying life event.
Re-enrollment after waiving
If you have a life changing event (i.e. involuntary loss of coverage) and need to enroll in the insurance plan after waiving, please contact University Health Plans at 1-800-437-6448 or info@univhealthplans.com. Enrollment must occur within 60 days of the qualifying life event.
