International students do not have access to the online waiver form. International students are automatically enrolled in the Ithaca College Student Health Insurance Plan. There are some exceptions.
In order to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan all students must have a plan that is considered comparable. A comparable plan must be filed and approved in the United States and fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act benefit requirements. Typically comparable plans are offered through a US employer or embassy. Do not purchase a health insurance plan without asking University Health Plans to review it first. Insurance companies that do not provide comparable plans include but are not limited to ISO, GBG Insurance, HDL Global Specialty, PGH (United), PSI, Student Medicover, and Tata AIG.
University Health Plans is available at info@univhealthplans.com, please include plan information in your email. University Health Plans will review the plan and provide you with instructions on how to waive if the other plan is deemed comparable.
All international students and other non-U.S. residents at Ithaca College are automatically enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan, coverage effective August 10, 2022. No additional action is required and you will be automatically enrolled. A copy of your insurance ID Card will be mailed to you, and is also available on or after the plan effective date of August 10, 2022 using the Insurance ID Card link located on the left hand side of this page in the navigation menu.
