For the 2022-2023 policy year, the prescription drug cost share will change to the following
- Tier 1: $15 copay
- Tier 2: 20% coinsurance
- Tier 3: 20% coinsurance
This change can have an impact on your out-of-pocket costs if you need prescriptions that will require you to pay 20% of the medication's cost up to the plan's $6,350 in-network out-of-pocket maximum (there is no out-of-network out-of-pocket maximum). Before enrolling, we encourage students impacted by the change to compare all other insurance options to the RWU SHIP

Health Source RI offers information about the RI marketplace where you can compare and purchase insurance plans. You may be eligible for a Subsidized Health Plan (a low or no cost insurance program for qualifying uninsured adults).

Plan Change for 2024-2025
- Co-insurance will be removed from the ambulance benefit
- Teledoc behavioral health will be included in the plan at no member cost share
- The out-of-pocket maximum will increase from $6,350 to $7,500.
- The ER copay will increase from $100 to $200
- The co-insurance for tier 3 and tier 4 prescription drugs for tier 3 and tier 4 will increase from 20% co-insurance to 30% co-insurance.
