STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN
2016-2017 Policy Year
MCPHS University is pleased to announce that for the 2016-2017 Academic Year we have teamed up with Blue Cross and Blue Shield to provide health insurance coverage for our students.
Massachusetts State law and MCPHS University policy requires all Boston, Manchester and Worcester students (regardless of enrollment) to have health insurance. Unless proof of comparable coverage is provided, you must participate in the MCPHS University Student Health Insurance Program. Online only students are not eligible for the student health insurance plan.
If you do not submit an online waiver form by the deadline below, you will automatically be enrolled in the University's Student Health Insurance Program and you will be responsible for the cost of the health insurance premium. Online Students are not enrolled, and not eligible for the Student Health Insurance Program.
* Health Insurance Waivers must be submitted annually.
If you submit an insurance waiver and then lose your coverage due to a qualifying life changing event, you must contact Student Financial Services at 617-732-2864 within 60 days to be enrolled in the BCBS SHIP. All students are required by law to have health insurance while enrolled at MCPHS University.
All international students must enroll in the University's insurance program with the exception of:
Those international students whose sponsoring institutions have a signed agreement with MCPHS University that complies with the University's health insurance waiver requirements or international students with a plan for which their health insurance company's primary home office is based in the United States AND the policy provides comparable coverage to the University student health insurance plan. Travel insurance plans and short-term limited duration plans are not comparable.
International students who do not fall under the above conditions MUST purchase the University's Student Health Insurance Plan.
