Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)
Step 1.
Register for Classes
After registering for classes to complete Step 2.
(You do not have to wait for the term bill to complete Step 2)
Step 2.
Complete the SHIP enrollment form for Summer/Third Term/2nd Degree Nursing at the following link.
*(F and J Rutgers Visa Sponsored Students must visit RGlobal’s website for waiver procedures)
Deadline Dates
Summer/Third Term/2nd Degree Nursing: June 30, 2024
After submission of the Enrollment FormWait 5-7 business days then create an account to print your insurance card at Summer/Third Term/2nd Degree Nursing coverage period: UnitedHealthcare StudentResources (UHCSR) is the carrier for the Student Health Insurance Plan. For inquiries about the Plan, contact UHCSR at customerservice@uhcsr.com or 866-599-4427. Students are responsible for paying the premium Summer/Third Term/2nd Degree Nursing premium for full-time students: $607 |
Waiver Requirements
- Your current plan provides coverage for the entire semester while you are a registered student at Rutgers.
- You do not have coverage with an out-of-state Medicaid Plan or out-of-state HMO Plan that ONLY provides coverage for urgent and emergency care in New Jersey.
- Your plan is filed and approved in the United States and fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act benefit regulations.
- Your current plan provides coverage for in-network hospitals, physicians, pharmacies, and mental health care providers in the immediate campus area.
Please note, if you falsify any information on the waiver or your coverage is not active, you may be subjected to your waiver being voided. You may be enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and the full semester premium may be added to your term bill.
